Questions parents ask
What do children usually wear for Chinese New Year in Singapore?
Girls usually wear a cheongsam or a festive dress, and boys a mandarin-collared shirt or Tang shirt with shorts. Red, gold and bright prints are the popular choice for Day 1. For babies, a romper or onesie with a mandarin collar gives the same look with easy snaps.
Which CNY outfits keep kids cool in Singapore heat?
Choose 100% woven cotton, which most of our cheongsams, dresses and shirts are made of. For children who need stretch, the Jersey Luna and Jersey Wendy Cheongsams and the Capella Dress are soft cotton-blend jersey. Sleeveless styles such as the Naomi Cheongsam and Luna Cheongsam are the coolest options.
What ages do your kids' CNY clothes cover?
From 3 months to 16 years. Baby rompers and onesies start at 3M. Tang Shirts and Flare Tulle Cheongsams go up to 8Y. The Twirly Cheongsam and boys' Mandarin-collared Shirts go up to 14Y, and tween pieces such as the Ashley Top and Blair Dress go up to 16Y.
How do I match a brother and sister for Chinese New Year?
Pick one print and choose her style and his style in it. In Red Fans, for example, pair the Twirly Cheongsam (S$79.90) with the boys' Mandarin-collared Shirt (S$52.90). In Blue Fans, pair the Naomi Cheongsam (S$74.90) with the Mandarin-collared Polo Tee (S$52.90).
Can my children wear these after Chinese New Year?
Yes. Nicole Pants, Charlie Shorts and Baby Shorts are plain colours for everyday wear, and the Little Man Shirt works for weddings and dinners. Our cotton cheongsams are also worn for Mid-Autumn Festival and Racial Harmony Day at school.
