Muslin Swaddles for Newborns

A wrap for settling into sleep, a nursing cover for feeding on the go, a burp cloth for the inevitable spit-up, and a shade for the stroller: our baby swaddles in Singapore cover more of the newborn's day than just naptime. Made from premium bamboo or GOTS-certified organic cotton, these muslin swaddle blankets stay soft, breathable and gentle on the most sensitive newborn skin, even through our warm climate. Choose from exclusive Elly Label prints or Disney - elly designs featuring Bambi, Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh, each one a nursery essential from the very first weeks home.

Given ahead of a due date or picked up as a baby shower or newborn baby gift, each swaddle wrap can be gift wrapped at checkout, and selected designs can be personalised with a name or initials for a keepsake that feels like theirs from day one. Generously sized to keep working well past the first few weeks, and reached for again and again rather than packed away, it's a piece made for the everyday routine.

FAQ about Baby Swaddles

What are your swaddles made of?

Our swaddles are made from premium bamboo muslin or GOTS-certified organic cotton, both soft, breathable and gentle on newborn skin.

Can I personalise a swaddle?

Yes, selected swaddles can be personalised with a name or initials, which makes them a lovely keepsake gift.

Do you offer gift wrapping for swaddles?

Yes, you can add gift wrapping at checkout for a beautifully presented new baby gift.

Are muslin swaddles safe for babies?

Yes, muslin swaddles are safe for newborns when used correctly. The lightweight, breathable weave means less risk of overheating than heavier fabrics, which is one of the reasons we chose bamboo muslin and organic cotton muslin for ours.

Is it good to swaddle a baby?

It depends on how and when it's done.

Done well, swaddling recreates that snug, secure feeling of the womb. It helps calm a newborn, soothes the startle reflex that can wake them, and encourages back sleeping, the safest way for a baby to sleep.

Ensure you have left plenty of room for the hips and knees to move, dressed your baby lightly underneath, placed them on their back to sleep, and stop swaddling as soon as they show signs of rolling. When in doubt, check in with your paediatrician.

Can babies be burped while swaddled?

Yes, no need to unwrap them first. Sit your baby upright on your lap, supporting their chin and chest with one hand, or lay them face-out along your forearm. The over-the-shoulder hold works just as well, with their head resting above your shoulder. Whichever position you choose, a gentle, firm pat or a slow circular rub on the back does the job.

When should I no longer swaddle?

Stop as soon as your baby shows any signs of trying to roll over, or by around 2 to 3 months of age, whichever comes first.

Once your little one has outgrown the swaddle, our Sleeping Bags are a safer next step, giving them more freedom to move while still keeping them snug for sleep.

What else can I use the swaddles for?

Beyond swaddling for sleep, our muslin swaddle blankets double as a nursing cover for feeding on the go, a burp cloth for the inevitable mess, and a light cover for the stroller on sunny days. One swaddle wrap, doing the work of four.
