FAQ about Jellycat Dragons and Mythical Creatures

Which Jellycat dragon is best for a newborn or baby gift?

Go for the Bashful Dragon Soother. It is a flat, silky comforter that little hands can hold, which makes it the easiest dragon to give as a newborn or 100-day gift. For a matching set, add a Small Bashful Dragon (the smallest size) that can grow with the baby.

What is the difference between Bashful Dragon and the Snow, Lavender and Sky Dragons?

Bashful Dragon is the classic sitting-up Jellycat shape with soft green fur, so it is the easiest to cuddle, carry and take to bed. It comes in Small, Medium, Huge and Really Big. Snow, Lavender and Sky Dragons are long, lying-down dragons with wings and spines along the back, so they look more dramatic on a bed or shelf and suit older children who love fantasy stories.

How big are the dragons?

The lying-down dragons are long rather than tall. As a guide, Snow Dragon Little is about 7 cm high and 26 cm long, and Snow Dragon Large is about 14 cm high and 50 cm long, roughly the width of a pillow. Jellycat measures dragons from nose to the base of the tail, so the tail adds a little more. Every product page lists the exact size.

My child loves magic but not dragons. What else is there?

Try the Bashful Unicorn, which has a shimmery horn and a soft pink tail and comes in the same four sizes as Bashful Dragon. It is a gentle first step into mythical creatures for a child who finds dragons a bit too fierce.

The dragon I want is sold out. Will it come back?

Dragons are some of our most popular Jellycats and sell out quickly. Restocks depend on Jellycat’s deliveries, so we cannot promise a date. Keep an eye on Jellycats Back in Stock and New Jellycats, where returning and new characters appear first.
