Why swaddle your newborn?
In the first weeks, many newborns are startled awake by their own reflexes, a sudden jerk of the arms just as they drift off. A snug swaddle keeps those little arms close, giving baby a secure, womb-like feeling that is a lot like being held. Many babies settle faster and sleep in longer stretches, which makes it a gentle, calming tool for naps and night feeds in the early months. Swaddle with care: always place baby on their back, keep the wrap loose around the hips, and stop as soon as baby starts trying to roll.

A few simple habits keep swaddled sleep safe and comfortable.

About organic cotton muslin and choosing the right swaddle.
Is this a swaddle or a blanket?
Both, which is why it lasts well beyond the swaddling months. Stop swaddling as soon as baby shows signs of trying to roll, often from around 2 to 4 months. After that, the same muslin square becomes a pram cover, nursing cover, burp cloth, tummy-time mat or light cover for supervised cuddles.
How many swaddles do I need for a newborn?
Most mums find 3 to 4 enough: one on baby, one in the nappy bag and one in the wash.
Can I personalise it?
Yes. Choose name embroidery above and we will stitch baby's name at the bottom right corner. A named swaddle makes a lovely newborn, baby shower or 100-day gift. Personalised orders need 2 extra working days.
Does the embroidery feel stiff?
The stitched name feels a little firmer than the airy muslin around it. That is normal for embroidery on a light fabric, and we place it at the bottom right corner, away from baby's face. It is a small trade-off for a keepsake gift with baby's name on it.
What does GOTS-certified organic cotton mean?
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) checks the whole journey, from how the cotton is grown to how the fabric is dyed and finished. It means the muslin is made from organically grown cotton and processed without harsh chemicals, which is gentle on a newborn's skin.
Is muslin too warm for Singapore weather?
No. Muslin is a light, open weave that lets air pass through, which is why it is a favourite for hot, humid days. This swaddle is a single layer, so it stays breathable for naps, pram walks and car rides.
Should I choose organic cotton or bamboo muslin?
Both are soft, breathable and come in a gift box. Our organic cotton swaddles are 100% GOTS-certified cotton in officially licensed Disney | Elly prints. Our bamboo muslin swaddles are a 70% bamboo, 30% cotton blend in prints hand-drawn by The Elly Store. Choose the print you love most.
