Step by step
How to Use Your Sleeping Bag
The Elly Sleeping Bag is worn over pyjamas as a wearable blanket, replacing loose bedding in the crib for a safer, cosier night's sleep.
Dress baby in pyjamas first. For cold aircon rooms, use a sleepsuit. For fan-only or warmer rooms, a short-sleeve onesie is enough.
Slide baby in feet-first and zip up from the bottom.
Fold the zipper guard over the top to protect baby's chin and neck.
For nappy changes, unzip from the bottom only. No need to take the bag off. Back to sleep in seconds.
Start using the sleeping bag once baby shows signs of rolling, usually around 3 to 4 months. This is the safe point to stop swaddling too. The sleeping bag keeps baby warm while allowing full arm and leg movement.

Choosing the Right TOG
Match the TOG rating to your room temperature for safe, comfortable sleep.
Safe sleep reminder
Little ones sleep safest on their backs
Always place baby on their back for the first year. Keep the crib clear of loose blankets, bumpers, and pillows. Wearable sleeping bags are recommended by the AAP as the safer alternative.
The Elly Sleeping Bag is designed with safe sleep in mind, so you can rest easy too.
Common questions
Everything parents ask
From safe sleep to Singapore temperatures, answered clearly so you can buy with confidence.
What is the difference between a sleeping bag and a blanket?
A sleeping bag is worn on the body. Baby is zipped inside it, so it stays securely in place all night even when they wriggle or roll. A blanket sits on top and can shift, bunch up, or cover baby's face. For this reason, loose blankets are not recommended for babies under 12 months. A sleeping bag gives the same cosy warmth with none of the risk.
Are sleeping bags safe for babies?
Yes. A wearable sleeping bag stays securely on all night. Unlike loose blankets, it cannot shift over baby's face. Sleeping bags are recommended by the AAP as the safer alternative to loose bedding in the crib.
When should I switch from a swaddle to a sleeping bag?
As soon as baby shows signs of rolling, often as early as 3 months. Rolling is when swaddling should safely stop, making the sleeping bag the natural next step. It keeps baby warm while allowing full arm and leg movement.
How do I use the sleeping bag?
Dress baby in pyjamas first. Slide them in feet-first, then zip up from the bottom. Fold the zipper guard over to protect baby's chin. For nappy changes, unzip from the bottom only. No need to remove the bag.
What TOG do I need in Singapore?
Use 0.2 TOG for hot rooms (25°C+, no aircon or fan). Choose 0.5 TOG for warm rooms with a fan (22 to 24°C). For air-conditioned rooms (20 to 22°C), go with 1.0 TOG and pair with a sleepsuit for the colder end. Always check the back of baby's neck. Warm and dry is the goal.
Will the sleeping bag overheat my baby?
Not when the right TOG is chosen for the room temperature. The sleeveless cut lets baby's arms regulate body heat naturally. Pair with the right TOG and clothing layer using the guide above, and do a quick neck check before you go to sleep.
How long will my baby fit in it?
The Elly Sleeping Bag is designed with extra length so baby grows into it and wears it longer. It still fits as long as baby can stand flat-footed inside the bag with room to wiggle their toes.
