Toys chosen for how children actually play

Every child plays differently, and this edit is built around that. Jellycat covers the comfort and soft-toy side of play, from a first cuddly companion to collectable bunnies and animals. BRIO wooden trains and Magna-Tiles magnetic tiles suit children who like building, stacking and inventing their own worlds. Plan Toys spans pretend play, puzzles and wooden vehicles across most ages, while Olive's food-grade silicone toys are designed for babies who are still exploring with their hands and mouths. Green Toys rounds out the range with recycled-material toys for children 3 and under. Use the age and brand links below, or the FAQs further down, to narrow in on what suits your child.

FAQ about All Toys

What toy should I buy when I do not know the child very well?

For a baby under 1, an Olive silicone bath set or teether is always used, whatever their interests. For ages 2 to 5, a BRIO train or a Magna-Tiles set is the safest bet, because every BRIO World piece connects to the next and Magna-Tiles sets can be added to at every birthday. If you are truly stuck, an e-gift card lets the parents choose.

How do I choose between a soft toy, a building toy and a sensory toy?

Think about what the child already does when they play. A child who carries a comfort toy everywhere will usually enjoy a Jellycat. A child who likes making, stacking or creating little worlds may get more from BRIO, Magna-Tiles or Plan Toys. For a baby who is still exploring with their hands and mouth, an Olive sensory toy is designed for exactly that stage.

Which toys are safe for babies and toddlers under 3?

Olive silicone teethers, stacking boats and bath toys are made for babies who put everything in their mouths. For toddlers, BRIO’s My First Railway sets have chunky pieces made for small hands. Magna-Tiles are designed for ages 3 and up, and Magna-Tiles advises keeping the tiles off the floor around children under 3, so they are better for an older sibling or for playtime with an adult.

Do you ship all six toy brands internationally?

No. BRIO, Magna-Tiles, Plan Toys, Olive and Green Toys ship within Singapore only, and so do most Jellycats. If you are sending a gift overseas, our Disney | elly clothing and gifts are the easier choice. See our shipping page for destinations, delivery times and costs.

Are any of these toys safe for babies to mouth or teethe on?

Yes, Olive toys. They are made from food grade silicone and are free from BPA, PVC and phthalates, so they are designed with mouthing in mind. Keep Magna-Tiles and BRIO trains for older children, as they are not made to be chewed.
