Each Elly garment is different, and requires special care for its specific materials. Take care of them according to their needs, as listed on the garment care label, and they'll continue to look good for a long time.
HOW TO WASH
Give your whites, darks and colours the special attention they need. Wash each colour group separately.
Wash garments with contrast trims or panels separately, especially your blacks and whites. The fabrics have been designed to be washed together, but may absorb dye from other garments.
Wash your denim and coated fabrics inside out to protect the fabric and depth of colour.
Viscose and jersey natural materials can stretch in the wash. Use a steam iron to bring your garments back to form.
Wash cotton in cold water on a delicate cycle.
HOW TO CARE
Keep the heat low with delicate items, and always follow the instructions on your garment to avoid damage.
If there is gold foil print on your garment, always iron on reverse.
Dry cleaning instructions are specific to a style or material, and Elly's care label will tell you what it needs.
We recommend dry cleaning with all lace fabrics.

Bobux soft sole shoes have leather uppers and soft, suede soles. In order to clean these baby shoes, we don't recommend throwing them in the wash as they could come out misshapen and shrunken. Use a suede brush to brush off any dirt, and a damp cloth to wipe away any remaining grime. The leather uppers can be wiped clean using a damp cloth. Place tissues into the shoes so they don’t lose their shape, and allow to air dry.
Leather shoes are the hardiest shoes for kids, since they’re easy to clean, and to care for. Often they’ll just require a quick wipe over. If they need a better clean, you can use a shoe brush to brush away mud and dirt. Then use a damp cloth to wipe away the excess grime.
If you want to go the extra mile, you can condition the leather using a specially formulated leather conditioner. Finally, polish them using dubbin or beeswax polish for added shine and to protect them from scuffs. You can also use a coloured nugget or coloured beeswax polish on nappa leather shoes to rejuvenate the leather after scuffing.
If you need to dry the shoes be sure to dry them in air instead of near a heater as this can damage the leather.

Can I clean the shoes with soap?
From Castell Menorca we advise not to use soap and detergents in the cleaning of the covers or any other type of footwear made with leather, provided it is not a soap or specific product for skins used in the manufacture of footwear.
What can we do if they get wet?
The advantage that the skin has, is that although they get wet it is very easy to recover the shoe. The solution is very simple: put some newspaper papers in your shoes and leave them to absorb the water. Do not dry them with a dryer or with heating, otherwise the leather of the shoe can become burnt.
What if it gets muddy?
It is best to let the mud dry in the shade. Once dry, brush the footwear very delicately and repeat the previous process.
For oil stains, you have to put talcum powder on the stain and wait for the talc to absorb the oil and then brush.

Wipe down with a damp washcloth and leave out to dry naturally, avoiding sunlight. If you choose to polish shoes, use a high quality cream polish that matches your shoe colour, then buff to a shine. Avoid washing in the machine if possible as it may alter the look and feel of your child’s shoes.

EVA shoes can be hand-washed using mild soap and baking soda. Wash with a cloth or soft brush and let dry in a cool shaded area. Never put your shoes in the washing machine, dryer, or dishwasher! EVA shoes are heat-formed, so they can be heat-deformed. As advised on Native product tags, store shoes away from direct sun or heat, as they can warp due to the EVA composition. We also advise against leaving them in hot cars.
The technical name for EVA is ethylene-vinyl acetate. This material naturally moulds to your feet, giving each step a cool and cushy feeling. Native EVA shoes are lightweight, shock absorbent, hand-washable, and odour-resistant.

As the name implies, it’s fine to wear Salt Water and Sun-San sandals in the water (including at the beach, jumping in puddles etc) and they can be hand washed in cold water using a mild detergent, if dirty. However, be sure to dry away from direct sunlight/heat.
